After deciding in an unprecedented move to reschedule the 2020
Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games due to the new coronavirus
pandemic, organizers announced on March 30 that the games will
take place in the summer of 2021. The new Olympic dates conflicted with the world championships in track and swimming, but those
events are now expected to also be pushed back.
